OLIVER!

TO BE PERFORMED IN MILLIS

 

The compelling musical Oliver! will be performed in Millis on Friday, March 19, 26 and Saturday, March 20, 27 at 7:30 pm at the Millis High School Auditorium, 245 Plain Street (Rte. 15) Millis.

The play is based on the Charles Dickens 1838 classic novel of Oliver Twist.  The drama will engage the audience, while delivering outstanding musical numbers including Food Glorious Food, I’d Do Anything, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, and Reviewing the Situation.

The musical portrays the life and treatment of orphans in London in the 1830s. Dickens classic was written to criticize the poor laws in 19th century England.  The play is a challenging tale of Oliver, who through the conflict of good and evil, corruption and degradation, is pure hearted, and born for better things in life.

The play is produced by the Millis Theatre Group (a community theater organization) in consortia with Millis High School and Millis Middle School.  This is the consortia’s seventh annual spring musical production, bringing musical theater to the area.

Tickets are $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors and students, children under age 8 are $8.00.  Group tickets are available by calling 508-376-5404.  Tickets may be purchased at the Millis Middle School office, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm.  Tickets will also be available at the door on a first come-first serve basis.
